Tides of Time

The waves of time swept me away,
Adrift, my mind cascaded,
Crashing against the waves.
Tides of future sediment
Washed away my sandcastles,
My past foundations, eradicated.
No footprints in the sand, no witness at hand—
Is it a mirage? My sight is blurred.
The weight of the world strikes me,
History repeats itself.
The loss of Thisbe, the fall of Ramses—
No Trojan horse could deceive the tides of time,
Inevitably, time awaits,
Baiting the unwary fish.

“Tick tock, naive fishes come out to play,
Be cast away, like fishes of men.”
